Frequently Asked Questions

How long do your products last?

Our products are good for 4 weeks from when they are made. Keep them chilled, once opened they will last for about 7 days. You’ll find the ‘use by’ date on the packet.

Can I freeze them?

Yes, all our products can be frozen and will keep in the freezer for about 3 months.

Do I need to cook them?

No, they can be eaten as they are but are also suitable to use in your favourite recipes and will crisp up nicely in a pan or oven.

Are your products suitable for vegans?

Yes, they are all 100% plant-based and produced in a vegan/vegetarian, council verified kitchen.

Are your products gluten free?

No. They are made with high-gluten flour which is what makes them rich in protein and gives them their texture. See ‘Our Range’ for a full list of allergens, ingredients and nutritional info.

I don’t like hot spicy foods, how hot are they?

This is a hard one to answer as everyone has a different preference and tolerance for spicy heat. Our chorizo is the spiciest followed closely by pepperoni. They both have a Mediterranean style spicy heat to them but most people find the heat just right and we have had feedback that children enjoy them too. If you really don’t like spicy foods, they may not be for you. Our pastrami is not ‘hot’ but does have a black peppercorn rub which gives a little heat.

Is your packaging sustainable?

Yes, the cardboard sleeve can go in with your recycling and the plastic wrapper should be washed and added to your soft-plastics recycling. In the future we hope to use a compostable plastic wrapper but for now you can find your nearest soft-plastic recycling drop off here.

Why make meat-like products for people who don’t like meat?

Our initial idea was to make a product that would appeal to those who DO eat meat and so provide an alternative source of protein that tasted delicious and saved the lives of animals. When you eat our products you are not tasting ‘meat’, you are tasting the herbs, spices and other ingredients which give them their depth of flavour. Our products provide a source of protein, free of animal products, which is versatile and can be used in a range of meals limited only by your imagination.
